Burns, Poisoning, Snake Bite & Toxicological Emergency Care

Emergency Management of Toxicological and Environmental Emergencies

Apollo Adlux Hospital provides emergency care for poisoning, drug overdose, snake bite, animal bite, insect sting and other toxicological emergencies. Management begins with rapid assessment of airway, breathing, circulation and neurological status, followed by appropriate monitoring and supportive treatment. Patients with severe poisoning or envenomation may require ventilatory support, haemodynamic monitoring, antidotal therapy where appropriate and admission to intensive care.

The Emergency Department also provides initial stabilisation and assessment for burn injuries, including pain control, fluid resuscitation, wound evaluation and specialist referral based on the extent and severity of injury. Because the effects of toxins and envenomation can progress rapidly, continuous observation and access to laboratory, imaging and critical care support are available when clinically required.
