Cerebral Palsy

Cerebral palsy is a group of neurological conditions that affect movement, posture, coordination and muscle tone. Children may experience delayed motor milestones, stiffness, involuntary movements, feeding difficulty, speech problems, epilepsy or learning challenges.

At Apollo Adlux Hospital, cerebral palsy management is planned according to the child’s movement pattern, functional abilities and developmental needs. Treatment may include medication, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech and swallowing therapy, orthopaedic support, assistive devices and Botulinum toxin therapy for selected children with spasticity or dystonia.

The objective of cerebral palsy treatment is to improve comfort, mobility, communication, independence and overall quality of life.
