The department provides complex liver surgery in Kochi for selected benign and malignant liver conditions. Surgical treatment may be considered for primary liver tumours, metastatic liver disease and other focal liver lesions after comprehensive imaging and multidisciplinary evaluation.

Advanced liver surgery requires careful assessment of tumour location, vascular anatomy, remaining liver function and overall patient health. The Surgical Gastroenterology and HPB teams work closely with hepatologists, oncologists, radiologists, anaesthesiologists and critical care specialists to plan safe and individualised surgical care.
