Endocrine Surgery Services

Specialised endocrine surgery encompasses procedures for disorders affecting the thyroid, parathyroid glands, adrenal glands, breast and endocrine pancreas. The surgical team at Apollo Adlux Hospital provides comprehensive evaluation and operative management for both routine and complex endocrine conditions, with conventional and minimally invasive approaches selected according to individual clinical requirements.

Thyroid surgery forms a major part of the service, covering hemithyroidectomy, total thyroidectomy, minimally invasive thyroid surgery and complex procedures for thyroid cancer. Advanced surgical care extends to locally advanced thyroid cancers requiring tracheal resection, as well as retrosternal goitres requiring sternotomy and thyroidectomy. Re-operative thyroid surgery, surgery for congenital goitres and thyroglossal cysts are also available.

Parathyroid procedures include focused parathyroidectomy, bilateral four-gland neck exploration and subtotal or total parathyroidectomy with forearm autotransplantation in selected cases. Adrenal surgery addresses conditions such as pheochromocytoma, Conn’s syndrome, nonfunctional adrenal adenoma and adrenal tumour-related Cushing’s syndrome.

Endocrine pancreatic and neuroendocrine tumour surgery includes procedures for insulinomas, gastrinomas and other hormonally active islet cell tumours. Coordinated endocrine surgical care enables patients with complex hormonal and endocrine disorders to receive specialised assessment, surgical planning and postoperative management within one comprehensive centre.
