Endoscopic Ultrasound

Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS) in Kochi combines high-resolution ultrasound imaging with endoscopy to provide detailed assessment of the gastrointestinal tract and nearby organs, particularly the pancreas, bile ducts, liver and surrounding lymph nodes. It is valuable for both diagnosis and minimally invasive therapeutic intervention.

Diagnostic EUS

Diagnostic EUS can help evaluate pancreatic, biliary and gastrointestinal lesions with greater anatomical detail. Tissue diagnosis can be supported through EUS-guided Fine Needle Aspiration (FNA) or Fine Needle Biopsy (FNB), while EUS-guided liver biopsy may be used in selected patients for assessment of liver disease.

Therapeutic EUS

Therapeutic EUS enables several complex interventions to be performed through a minimally invasive approach. These may include EUS-guided cystogastrostomy for pancreatic fluid collections, EUS-guided biliary drainage, EUS-guided coiling, EUS-guided celiac plexus block or neurolysis, and EUS-guided gastrojejunostomy. These techniques may provide alternatives to surgery or percutaneous procedures in carefully selected patients.
