Paediatric Neurology

Paediatric neurology focuses on conditions affecting the brain, spinal cord, nerves and muscles of infants, children and adolescents. Children may require neurological evaluation for seizures, delayed development, recurring headaches, weakness, abnormal movements, loss of previously acquired skills, balance problems or sudden changes in behaviour and awareness. Apollo Adlux Hospital provides age-appropriate assessment and treatment for childhood epilepsy, developmental neurological conditions, movement disorders, neuromuscular diseases and other paediatric neurological concerns.

The paediatric neurology team works with paediatricians, radiologists, neurosurgeons, rehabilitation specialists, physiotherapists and speech and language therapists to create a coordinated treatment plan. Diagnostic services may include EEG, prolonged video EEG, imaging and nerve or muscle testing when required. The department also provides multidisciplinary assessment for paediatric stroke, including acute management, identification of possible causes and rehabilitation for movement, speech, learning or swallowing difficulties.
