The department evaluates and manages pneumonia, recurrent respiratory infections, pulmonary tuberculosis and other infectious lung diseases. Diagnostic evaluation may involve blood investigations, sputum studies, chest imaging and bronchoscopy with bronchoalveolar lavage when required.

Patients with severe pneumonia or infections complicated by oxygen deficiency or respiratory failure receive multidisciplinary inpatient care with respiratory monitoring and critical care support when necessary.
