The da Vinci Xi system provides surgeons with enhanced visualisation and instrument flexibility during complex abdominal and pelvic procedures. This can be particularly valuable during rectal cancer surgery, where the narrow pelvis can make conventional surgical access challenging.

Robotic-assisted GI cancer surgery aims to achieve appropriate tumour removal and lymph node dissection while preserving surrounding structures whenever possible and maintaining established oncological surgical principles.
