Procedures may include robotic thyroidectomy, central neck dissection and selected lateral neck dissections depending on the extent of disease. The robotic platform provides enhanced magnification that can assist surgeons in identifying critical structures such as the recurrent laryngeal nerves, parathyroid glands and surrounding blood vessels. Suitability depends on tumour characteristics, thyroid size, lymph node involvement and previous neck surgery.
