24/7 Specialised Care for Sick and Critically Ill Newborns

Newborn babies may occasionally develop medical problems soon after birth that require immediate evaluation and treatment. The Neonatology team provides specialised care for newborns requiring observation, stabilisation, intensive monitoring and emergency medical support. Babies experiencing breathing difficulty, feeding problems, suspected infection, low blood sugar, seizures, jaundice, temperature instability or other medical concerns may require admission to the NICU for closer observation and treatment.

Normal Newborn Care

Healthy newborn babies receive routine medical assessment following delivery. The neonatal team evaluates the baby's breathing, circulation, temperature, feeding and general health and provides guidance to parents regarding breastfeeding, newborn hygiene, vaccination and warning signs requiring medical attention.

Care of Sick Newborns

Newborns with medical concerns are evaluated by the neonatal team and receive individualised treatment depending on the underlying condition. Continuous monitoring may be provided when required.

Neonatal Emergency Care

Neonatal emergencies require rapid assessment and stabilisation. The NICU team provides respiratory, circulatory and medical support for critically ill newborns while coordinating additional specialist care whenever necessary.

Neonatal Transport Support

Babies requiring transfer while receiving respiratory assistance may be supported using a neonatal transport ventilator, depending on their clinical requirements. Specialised transport support helps maintain essential respiratory care during transfer.
