Dr. Aabid Babu K.E. is an Associate Consultant in Medical Gastroenterology at Apollo Adlux Hospital with expertise in technical precision in advanced endoscopic procedures, and a genuinely patient-first approach to care. He manages a wide range of both outpatient and inpatient digestive and liver conditions, with an emphasis on evidence-based treatment.
His procedural experience is substantial for a doctor at his career stage, more than 1,250 upper GI endoscopies and over 750 diagnostic and therapeutic colonoscopies, including hot and cold snare polypectomies. He is skilled across the full range of GI bleed management techniques (EVL, Sclerotherapy, Hemoclipping, Hemospray, and Argon Plasma Coagulation), as well as Savary-Gillard dilatation, PEG tube insertion, and anorectal and oesophageal manometry. He is also experienced with more specialised technology including capsule endoscopy, EUS, ERCP, and Spyglass Cholangioscopy (a technique that allows direct visualisation inside the bile duct).
Dr. Aabid completed his specialised training in Medical Gastroenterology at the Amala Institute of Medical Sciences, after a strong foundation in internal medicine as a Senior Resident at Government Medical College, The Nilgiris. He was awarded Second Prize in the Scientific Session (Masterclass in Guidelines) at ISG-KOLLAMCON 2025, and remains active in national conferences and published research.
