Dr. Antony Paul Chettupuzha is one of the most experienced gastroenterologists in Kerala with experts hands in complex endoscopy, ERCP, or a second opinion on a tricky liver or pancreas problems. With over 22 years in the field, he has built a reputation not just for volume of procedures, but for handling the cases other centres find difficult.

In 2007, Dr. Antony Paul Chettupuzha introduced Double Balloon Enteroscopy (DBE) to South India, a technique used to examine and treat the small intestine in places a standard endoscope can't reach. Since then he has personally performed over 1,000 DBE procedures, more than 1,500 ERCPs (used for gallstones, bile duct blockages, and pancreatic duct problems), and over 200 therapeutic Endoscopic Ultrasounds (EUS). He has also conducted more than 2,000 abdominal and GI ultrasound scans every year for the past two decades, giving him an exceptionally sharp eye for spotting problems early.

Patients come to him for advanced and minimally invasive treatment of liver disease, Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), pancreato-biliary disorders, and for endoscopic palliative care in advanced GI cancers, care that eases symptoms and improves quality of life without invasive surgery. He is also active in gastroenterology research and has contributed to multiple national and international publications and multicentre trials. He also trains DNB postgraduate students in gastroenterology and has held leadership roles in organising major GI conferences in the region.
